200hr YTT Reflection
Completing the 200hr YTT with the Yoga 213 team and fellow students exceeded all expectations.
Supportive teachers – tick. Information, anecdotes and insights – tick. Preparation and advice for the real world – tick. But there was SO much more to it.
At the beginning of the training I learnt that if you trust of the process things will fall into place. And they did. I started to connect with, and understand the practice of yoga on different levels.
Each lecture I was like a sponge – absorbing information about the fundamentals of the asanas, the physical aspects of human body, meditation and of course, what it means to be happy.
Doing my yoga teacher training with Yoga 213 also taught me how to be a better version of myself. It taught me to be more present, open, trusting and grateful for my mind, body and those around me. It taught me how to connect with students, music and the flow.
Working closely with Sammy Veall and Steve Ross for teaching, sequencing, mediation, and the business aspect of yoga was amazing. Sammy and Steve’s personal insight and anecdotes from their time in the industry was invaluable – and often hilarious.
Ending the trip in Bali was quite literally the icing on the cake. Desa Seni Resort in Canggu is a blissful oasis filled with happy yogis, happy team members and happy experiences; from strengthening classes, to twilight yin, to relaxing poolside and everything in between!
And the food. Cannot and will not forget the food. Fresh, grown onsite and 3 meals cooked for you each day; it’s safe to say my meal prepping in Melbourne pales in comparison.
All in all, to say I am much better off after YTT is an understatement. If you were considering completing a YTT, do it. You’ll thank me later.
