All about Casa Pueblo
It’s well and truly winter, and that calls for a dreamy distraction thinking about sunrise yoga, sunset margaritas, fresh tacos, ocean swims and rooftop meditation. Well, you can expect all that and more at our Mexico Yoga Retreat with Steve Ross and Sammy Veall this October.
An amazing retreat experience begins with the perfect place to stay. So you can image our excitment when we discovered Casa Pueblo – a luxurious boutique hotel in Tulum. We had a chat to the creative and innovative owners of this jungle paradise that will become our home for the 7 night retreat.
Casa Pueblo is the definition of Mexican paradise. Can you tell us more about the sustainability, architecture and interiors?
From the beginning, we envisioned all of the Casa Pueblo hotels to not only look like a paradise, but to actually BE a “modern paradise” for the modern traveler. This has kept us on our toes to keep an elevated aesthetic and quality of overall comfort to the entire space.
The architecture and interior design was done by my brother, Derek Klein, and his collaborator, and dear friend Mike Moser. Together they were able to pull together the essence of sophistication, yet minimal approach to keep the modern traveler feeling at home, yet inspired all at the same time.
What makes a beautiful boutique hotel like Casa Pueblo so special?
What keeps people recommending the space, is the overall feeling and experience that they receive before, during, and even after they have stayed somewhere.
Have you ever travelled somewhere foreign (whether in or out of your home country), to a friend-of-a-friend’s home, that you’ve never met before, and they greeted you like family, made you feel at home, and made sure that you had everything you needed as if they were some long lost aunt or uncle? This, for us, is hospitality. We’re very fortunate to have such an amazing, caring staff, that are really passionate about what they do.
In between yoga, fresh food and meditation, what are some tips on how yogis can take full advantage of their time at Casa Pueblo?
The Casa Pueblo Experience extends further beyond the simple walls of the hotel. Asking our Front Desk staff for curated, unique experiences will put the “cherry on top” for it all. From unique experiences to Tulum such as horseback riding, or SUP yoga classes in a private lagoon – the experience goes well beyond the beauty within Casa Pueblo.
To make the most of your downtime in Tulum and surrounding pockets, speak to the team at the Front Desk for our recommendations. Let us know the general idea of what you’re looking for, and we’ll guide you in the right direction.
For the foodie travellers, what sort of dishes will we find on the menu at the hotel restaurant?
Our food is very simple, yet so very scrumptious. All our ingredients are organic and fresh, and our dishes very much international. We’ve selected dishes from our newly opened Greek-Mediterranean restaurant on the beach road “La Bomba,” but we are known for our homemade pizzas from our wood fired brick pizza oven. There’s something for everyone!
