Recipe: Raw Cacao Elixir
When my digestion is a bit sluggish, or I’ve had too much food the day before, I love having a bulletproof drink for breakfast. This allows my body 16-18 hours without food and takes the stress off my digestive system. Drinking a raw cacao elixir (what a mouthful!) is a great way to get in healthy fats for humming hormones, a good dose of magnesium (from the cacao) to reduce PMS and inflammation and it’s just an all round cosy drink to enjoy on cold winter mornings!
Ingredients for a large cacao elixir:
2 tbsp raw cacao
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp camu camu (optional)
1/4 tsp Açai berry powder (optional)
1-2 tbsp collagen (optional)
1 tbsp grass fed ghee
1 tbsp MCT oil
1 tbsp coconut butter
1 tsp maca powder
400ml boiling water
1. Place everything into a small pot and using a handheld stick blender, blend until frothy
2. Alternatively, if you have a blender that doesn’t explode with hot liquids, blend everything in the blender.
3. Pour into your favourite mug, sip slowly and enjoy!
