A Trip To Desa Seni, Bali
If you want to experience paradise on earth, Desa Seni is the place for you.
Set away from the hustle and bustle of Seminyak, Desa Seni Village Resort sits among lush rice fields in the surfy town of Canggu. Filled with local flora and fauna, plus an exceptionally manicured vegetable garden, this tropical oasis naturally exudes serenity, happiness and bliss.
Desa Seni is the vision of two friends who wanted to recreate a traditional Indonesian village after travelling around the country for 10 years. What they have now built is a community celebrating wellness, yoga and Indonesian culture, along with offering support for the local people.
When staying at Desa Seni you live in a charming restored and refurbished antique wooden home, imported from one of the many islands of Indonesia. The houses are filled with all the comforts you would expect from a resort, plus little nick-nacks and artifacts sourced from around the country.
Desa Seni features an Asian-Western cuisine with a focus on healthy, fresh and organic food. With the intention of serving delicious meals direct from farm to table, 80% of the ingredients used in the restaurant are sourced either locally or from the resorts flourishing vegetable garden.
Yoga is practiced in a dreamy open-air yoga shala overlooking the resorts gardens. A soft breeze cools you down as you flow and gently swaying palm trees and tropical birds create the soundtrack for savasana.
In September we will be returning to Desa Seni for the last week of our 200hr Happy Yoga Teacher Training! After three weeks of intense learning and practice at our Richmond studio, yogis will travel to Bali with Steve Ross and Nicky Grimsdale to teach their solo classes and enjoy a few well-earned coconuts by the pool.
