Back to all Weirdoughs

Welcome to Weirdoughs

by Bonnie Gill

Weirdoughs, an entirely plant-based pastry shop has arrived in Melbourne’s CBD and we’re really, really pleased. From the guys at Lord of the Fries, Il Fornaio and Matcha Mylkbar, it’s fair to say they know their way around a plant-based menu that will have you loving every bite.

Traditional techniques are used to make the delicious classics and not-so-classics like cubed croissants, red jam donuts, cronnoli, plus regular and almond croissants. The team behind the goodies use all sorts of plant-based alternative ingredients like apple cider vinegar, coconut oil, cashews, macadamias, white miso, Nuttelex and more to replace eggs and dairy.

Acknowledging that using animal products are no longer sustainable or necessary, Weirdoughs have spent the last few years trialling and testing plant-based goodies before opening the store on Flinders Lane last year.

If the sound of chocolatey pastries isn’t enough of a drawcard, keep in mind Weirdoughs also make plant-based gelato, make St Ali coffee and thickshakes.

Goodbye guilty dessert consumption, hello guilt-free plant-based goodies forever!
