Sammy grew up on a farm in New South Wales along the Murray River and still dreams of the fresh air and freedom that farm life gives you.
After studying vinyasa, hatha and hip hop yoga with Steve Ross in LA, Sammy headed off to Bali to attend another intensive vinyasa training where she learnt the cold hard discipline of being a yogi!
Sammy likes to think that Steve made her fall in love with yoga, while the Bali training pumped her full of knowledge and self-discipline.
Sammy’s life experiences and her time spent learning from Steve and hearing his countless stories has opened her mind to the realisation that life is all about having fun and being happy!
In Sammy’s hip hop classes, expect to have fun, let go and enjoy the pumping beats. It’s all about falling out and hopping back up again, smiling and appreciating the music. In her chill classes, Sammy becomes a teacher, helping students in and out of poses and teaching interesting variations with more relaxed tunes. Expect light hearted, fun classes where literally anything goes.
A Melbourne boy who studied at Oceanic Yoga in Goa, India, Nicky teaches a mixed bag of yogi delights, including vinyasa, yin, pranayama and meditation.
Nicky is a travelling yogi who injects creativity into his teaching by combining fluid flows with grounding mindfulness and breath work.
Nicky's love of yoga stems from the deep friendship he has created with himself, that grows from the peace of the body, mind and breath.
For Nicky, sharing yoga and effecting other's lives in a positive way is as humbling and honouring as it gets.
Yogis love Nicky's classes for his creative, challenging sequencing, his ability to bring students back to the breath and venture inside of their bodies, rather than leave them.
And with a practice that is lovely to watch, Nicky injects new life and inspiration into every class he leads.
Straight from Brooklyn, this New Yorker is the real deal hip hop yogi.
No time to rest for Hamford – he completed 200-hour vinyasa yoga teacher training at Joschi Institute in New York in 2010 and has since completed certifications in Melbourne in core yoga, yin yoga, barre attack and most recently dynamic anatomy. Currently enrolled in an advanced anatomy and physiology course with Yoga Synergy in Sydney, Hamford is working towards a physiotherapy degree.
Hamford teaches everything from fun and powerful classes to the slow and chilled.
A former recording artist of hip hop music and a closet anatomy geek, Hamford brings something a little different to the yogic table.
Since his first, unforgettably horrendous foray into vinyasa yoga some 10 years ago, he has been insatiably fascinated by its never-ending trajectory of self-discoveries. He loves that yoga is infinitely challenging and teaches us how to resiliently weather the storm of whatever is happening in our lives on and off the mat.
Simply being afforded the privilege of helping others initiate this enlivening process of self-transformation, to lead healthier, happier, more authentically fulfilling lives keeps the proverbial candle of his inspiration burning at both ends of the stick, on and off the mat each day.

Born in Malaysia and raised in New Zealand, Hugh found his way to Melbourne 14 years ago and has called it home ever since.
Hugh studied an advanced diploma in yoga teaching at CAE as well as Yin Yoga with Paul Grilley, and is known for his deeply soothing yin classes.
Hugh has an amazing ability to create a space for students to heal deeply and create balance emotionally, mentally and physically with yin yoga. He also incorporates Chinese medicine and a personal development approach to his classes.
Hugh’s love for yoga comes from how it has helped and continues to help Hugh heal emotionally, mentally and energetically.
Hugh loves being with students as they melt stress and worry away from their minds and bodies, as well as seeing how the practice makes a difference to an individual’s quality of life.

A country girl from Gippsland, Jennalea made her way to Melbourne 10 years ago, and has called it home ever since.
Teaching an array of slow and power vinyasa classes, as well as yin, Jennalea has completed various teacher-training programs, while currently studying nutritional medicine.
Intended for health, healing, and fun, Jennalea likes to connect with her students in class, speaking to each individual body and adjusting as much as possible to elevate the experience of yoga.
Jennalea knows that building awareness brings much more compassion and humility into our lives, and that the magic happens when we step outside of our comfort zones.
She loves getting down to JUICY by the Notorious B.I.G. that graces the Yoga 213 halls, and if she could be any yoga pose, it would be urdhva dhanurasana, otherwise known as wheel pose.
An effortless back bender who finds beauty in staying open to new experiences, Jennalea always has an epic experience in this asana.
Amy found yoga by accident. Then never looked back.
After a few years on the mat and a 200 Hour Vinyasa Teacher Training with Steve Ross and Yoga 213, yoga taught Amy to be truly happy. It let her gain control over her often-racing mind and gave her a practice that is always evolving. Every day is different. Every day is a challenge. Every day has the chance to be fun as well as rewarding.
Amy loves teaching a strong dynamic flow in her vinyasa classes. But also loves making sure her students remember yoga is about smiling, having a laugh, falling out of the pose every now and then, and getting straight back up.
After a 30 Hour Yin Teacher Training with Jo Phee, Amy started to really understand the power of the style. When it comes to her yin classes she tries to share all she can about how the slower practise can really nourish the body and the mind.
When she’s not on the mat, she’s a freelance copywriter with some help from her Global Masters of Media Communications. Sometimes she feels like she’s living a double life. Meetings and heels during the day then switching to yoga clothes in the afternoon. A very unhelpful superhero. She’s also currently studying Human Nutrition to give her a holistic knowledge base in health.
Having discovered her love for yoga during a back packing trip through Central America, this yogi bear found Yoga 213 on her return home from a one-year stint in Seattle.
Sarah completed Yoga 213’s first yoga teacher training along with Jennifer Crescenzo's Yin training last year and is now our very own Studio Manager!
Sarah teaches a chill, happy and dynamic flow, where you can expect to sweat and leave feeling lighter, calmer and happier.
Letting go of self-doubt and embracing everything that comes from doing so is a powerful thing that yoga has brought to Sarah, who believes that while yoga is a very personal journey, it creates a powerful connection to others.
For Sarah, it’s not about how flexible you are or if you can reach the full expression of a pose, it’s about how you feel and who you are when you get there. Enjoyment is all that matters!

A Melbourne girl who completed Yoga 213’s second 200 hour yoga teacher training, Taylor is our studio manager who also teaches chill and hip hop at 213.
Having suffered anxiety and stress as a teenager, Taylor believes in the mental benefits of a regular yoga practice, and fast became a 213 regular after her first class two years ago.
A gentle soul with a strong practice, Taylor loves to travel and recently expanded on her knowledge in India where she completed a further 300 hours of yoga study in Goa among the palm trees and monkeys.
For Taylor, it is simple – yoga makes life better and that’s why she loves it. With a love for sharing and connecting with people, Taylor hopes to help her students feel a little calmer and happier through the practice of yoga. Her soft and caring nature quickly puts students at ease in her classes, meaning there is plenty of room to grow, try new things and have fun.
Catering to all levels of yogis, Taylor’s classes are challenging yet nurturing, with a focus on breath awareness, alignment and some great tunes to match.
