Melbourne 200hr Teaching Training
Location: Yoga 213 Richmond + Desa Seni, Bali
Date: September 12th – November 8th 2020

We have designed a unique, fun and comprehensive YTT program to prepare you to share the practice you love with the world. Our experienced teaching team will help you develop your own authentic style so you leave the training confident, happy and ready to teach. The training is open to all levels of yoga experience. We welcome those looking to teach yoga professionally, along with those looking to deepen their practice and go on a journey of self-exploration.

Course structure

Part 1: Richmond studio 6 weeks part time
Saturday 12th September – Sunday 25th October

  • Saturdays 12pm – 6:30pm
  • Sundays 12pm – 3:30pm
  • Thursday evenings 6.30pm – 9.30pm

Details
During this first stage of the training you will learn how to teach yoga safely, effectively and efficiently through lectures on asana, sequencing, yoga anatomy and adjustments with Sammy and Amelia.

Please note: You are required to attend 18 studio classes of your choice over this 6 week period.

Part 2: Richmond studio 1 week intensive
Monday 26th  – Saturday 31st October

  • Monday to Friday 9.15am – 4.30pm 
  • Saturday 12pm – 6:30pm

During the second stage you will be exposed to the true meaning of yoga as Steve shares his knowledge on the history and philosophy of yoga, meditation and the ancient art of pranayama. Practice teaching will commence in preparation for your hour solo in Bali!

Part 3: Bali Retreat 1 week intensive
Sunday 1st – Sunday 8th November

  • Check in is from 2pm on Sunday 1st November 
  • Part 3 begins at 5pm
  • Check out is before 11am on Sunday 8th November

Sammy Veall
Asana, Sequencing and Self development

Sammy is the owner and founder of Yoga 213. Through training with the Steve, Sammy fell in love with the practice and all yoga had to offer. After two international teacher trainings and life changing mentoring from Steve, she  opened her happy home, Yoga 213, in 2013. Sammy’s life experiences and time spent with Steve made her realise that life is about being happy! Basing Yoga 213 around her ‘To Be Happy’ philosophy, Sammy continues to share the happiness of yoga with hundreds of students everyday.

Steve Ross
Philosophy, Meditation and Pranayama

Steve has practiced yoga for most of his life and has been teaching for 40 years. He has explored the physical aspects of yoga as well as it’s philosophical and spiritual roots. Steve spent four years living in India as a monk in the Vedic tradition. Since that time, he has ceaselessly sought out and training under some of the most notable masters of our time. He is honoured to share his knowledge and experience with other spiritual seekers.

Amelia Schrader
Yoga Anatomy

Amelia is a yoga teacher and qualified Naturopath (BSc) with a passion for health, movement and wellness. Amelia found her love for yoga in 2007 and has explored various styles from Vinyasa, Bikram, Barkan Method, Power, Ashtanga and Acro yoga. She later completed her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training in the Barkan Method and then a 500hr YTT Tiffany Cruikshank from Yoga Medicine. Amelia is passionate about creating an intelligent, conscious movement practice that is supported by her in depth knowledge of the body and yoga anatomy.

Important info

Attendance policy

You must be present for all tuition classes, yoga classes + the full seven days of the retreat to receive your 200hr YTT certificate. Please note that there will be reading materials, homework, home practice and studio practice involved in this 200hr YTT. We understand that sometimes life happens and if you do need to miss one session you can make up the hours with homework.

Cancellation policy

Cancellations can be made four weeks prior to the course commencement date and no later otherwise you will forfeit all monies paid outside of your $500 deposit money which is non refundable. If serious illness occurs inside four weeks prior to the course commencement date, a 50% cancellation fee applies. All other cancellations will be non refundable.

Payment terms and conditions

Early Bird Payment
$4,300 if paid in full before the 12th of May 2020.

Non-refundable deposit
$500 deposit is required to secure your position. This is non-refundable.

Payment plans
Available if you choose to pay the full rate. After submitting the $500 deposit the remaining balance is divided up into four payments. These payments are made over four months on the 1st of each month. Payments must be named and remittance sent to [email protected]

Final payment
Due on or before the 1st September 2020.

Frequently asked questions

Is this course with a Yoga Alliance?

We choose to not associate our training courses with Yoga Alliance. You do not need to be associated with this organisation to teach yoga professionally. Our training facilitators have carefully developed the course to make it unique, educational and practical. You will leave the training confident, inspired and ready to teach.

What certification will I gain?

On completion of the course you will receive your 200hr Vinyasa Yoga Certificate. You will be fully certified to teach yoga professionally both in Australia and overseas. Majority of our past students are now teaching in studios all over Melbourne with some even teaching in the US and UK.

How much yoga experience do I need?

All levels of yoga experience are welcome. You do not need to be an advanced yogi or need to be able to do advanced postures. A regular practice is recommended as the course can be physically demanding.

What style of yoga do we learn?

Vinyasa Yoga + Hip Hop Yoga.

How much are the text books?

Around $70 - $100.

How much work will there be outside of lectures?

We recommend dedicating 30mins - 1hr after each lecture to recap what was studied that day. Please note that there will be homework and pre-reading and this extra work has been factored into the 200hrs.

What if I can't attend a lecture?

100% attendance is recommended to get the most out of the training. We ask that all students are dedicated and put the training first. If you have an event that you must attend (family event or emergency) then a homework assignment can be assigned to make up missed hours.
